Forklift Operator – Wood Processing Facility
Are you an experienced Forklift Operator who enjoys working in a fast-paced industrial environment? We're looking for dependable, safety-focused operators to join our wood processing team.
This is more than a typical warehouse forklift position. You'll be transporting raw logs, lumber, timber, and finished wood products throughout our production facility and outdoor yard using industrial forklifts designed to handle large, heavy, and oversized loads.
If you take pride in operating equipment safely, working efficiently, and supporting a productive team, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, transport, and stack raw logs, lumber, timber, bundled wood products, and finished materials throughout the plant and yard.
- Supply raw materials to production equipment and remove finished products to keep operations running efficiently.
- Load and unload flatbed trailers, trucks, and railcars according to shipping documentation.
- Organize and maintain yard inventory by stacking materials securely, labeling products accurately, and ensuring easy access.
- Complete daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts, including checks of tires, brakes, hydraulics, and fluid levels, and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety procedures, and established traffic patterns to maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- At least 1–2 years of experience operating sit-down industrial forklifts.
- Experience handling oversized, heavy, or lumber products with large-capacity or outdoor forklifts is preferred.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, around sawdust and industrial machinery.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, climb on and off equipment frequently, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
