Pay: $18.00–$21.00 per hour

Marathon Staffing is hiring an experienced Packaging Operator to support a metal-processing operation in Osceola, Arkansas. In this role, you’ll operate packaging equipment and help ensure finished steel products are wrapped, banded, labeled and prepared correctly for storage or shipment.

What You’ll Do

• Operate approved packaging equipment used to wrap, band, secure, label and prepare finished steel products.
• Review work orders, packaging instructions, product specifications and customer requirements before beginning each order.
• Set up and adjust packaging equipment within authorized operating limits.
• Verify product identification, labels, tags, quantities, bundle details and packaging materials.
• Monitor packaging quality and correct routine issues before finished products are released.
• Inspect equipment, guarding, tools and work areas before and during operation.
• Identify and report equipment problems, damaged materials, incorrect labels and packaging concerns.
• Complete production, packaging, quality and material-tracking records accurately.
• Coordinate with production, quality, material handling and shipping teams to support accurate product flow.
• Direct or coordinate Packaging Helpers assigned to the work area when requested.
• Maintain an organized packaging area and remove loose banding, wrap, scrap and other hazards.
• Follow all PPE, machine-guarding, sharp-edge and energy-control requirements.

What You Bring

• Previous machine-operating, industrial packaging or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read work orders, product labels, packaging instructions and basic specifications.
• Mechanical ability to complete routine setup, adjustment and troubleshooting within approved limits.
• Strong attention to product identification, packaging quality and traceability.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to recognize unsafe equipment conditions and stop work when necessary.
• Dependable attendance and clear communication with production and support departments.
• Ability to work full-time on-site and safely perform the physical demands of the position.

Helpful Experience

• Packaging-equipment operation in a steel, metals, automotive or heavy-manufacturing environment.
• Experience with industrial banding, wrapping, labeling or bundle preparation.
• Experience completing production records or ERP transactions.
• Forklift, overhead-crane or material-handling experience, subject to site training and authorization.

Work Environment

This position works in an industrial production and packaging area around steel products, packaging equipment, sharp edges and moving material. The work may involve extended standing, repetitive movement, noise and changing production demands. Required PPE and all site safety procedures must be followed.
