Job Description
Now Hiring – Grounds Technician II (Greenville, SC)

Marathon Staffing is seeking dependable and hardworking individuals to join our team as Grounds Technicians II. This position plays a key role in the maintenance, repair, inspection, and improvement of parks, recreation facilities, cemeteries, and public grounds. Position Details
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Pay: $18.48/hour
  • Location: Greenville, SC

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general grounds maintenance including parks, cemeteries, trails, shelters, sports fields, playgrounds, and recreation facilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of public spaces including litter removal, graffiti removal, and hazard reporting
  • Operate landscaping and grounds equipment including mowers, weed eaters, blowers, trimmers, edgers, sprayers, and other small/large equipment as needed
  • Perform turf and landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, fertilizing, aerating, seeding, watering, and planting trees, shrubs, and seasonal plant materials
  • Assist with installation, construction, and removal of park amenities such as benches, picnic tables, fencing, signage, playground equipment, and related structures
  • Support setup, teardown, and cleanup of special events, recreational activities, and permitted city events
  • Assist with storm and weather-related cleanup including debris, tree limbs, and other emergency maintenance situations
  • Conduct routine inspection and preventative maintenance of equipment and report safety concerns or hazards
  • Maintain compliance with all safety procedures and properly use required PPE
  • Work outdoors throughout the entire shift in varying weather conditions

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction, or related field preferred
  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn a variety of groundskeeping equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift, bend, walk, and stand for the duration of the shift
  • Strong reliability, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid South Carolina Driver’s License
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
