Now Hiring: Automotive Mechanic – 1st Shift
Greenville, SC | $19.85+/Hour | Full-Time | Monday-Friday

Do you enjoy working on vehicles and solving mechanical problems? Marathon Staffing is hiring an Automotive Mechanic to help maintain a fleet of public transit vehicles in Greenville, SC.

This is an excellent opportunity for automotive or fleet mechanics looking for a stable career with daytime hours.

** Must pass a comprehensive background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check**

Starting Pay
  • $19.85/hour or more based on experience and certifications

Schedule
  • Monday-Friday
  • 5:00 AM-2:00 PM
  • No overnight shifts

What You'll Do

As an Automotive Mechanic, you'll perform preventive maintenance and repairs to help keep transit vehicles operating safely and reliably.

Responsibilities include:
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections
  • Change fluids, filters, and belts
  • Repair brakes, suspension, steering, and driveline components
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical systems
  • Assist with engine, cooling, exhaust, and hydraulic repairs
  • Respond to roadside service calls as needed
  • Complete maintenance records and repair documentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Work alongside experienced mechanics while expanding your technical skills

What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months of automotive, fleet, or mechanical repair experience OR completion of an automotive repair training program
  • Valid South Carolina driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a CDL (training provided)
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
