Job Description

Marathon Staffing is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator II for a position in Union City, GA. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a forklift, handling materials, and assisting with shipping and receiving operations.

General Summary

The Forklift Operator II is responsible for loading and unloading materials from trucks and rail cars, transporting products throughout the facility and yard, and maintaining accurate shipping and receiving records. This position works under immediate supervision and follows established instructions and procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load and unload materials from trucks and rail cars.

  • Transport materials and products between storage areas and designated work areas.

  • Break down packs to the correct size and label materials before loading shipments.

  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.

  • Complete pre-shift equipment inspections and report any issues or safety concerns.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard.

  • Complete required shipping, receiving, and other operational paperwork.

  • Empty trash containers and wood hoppers as needed.

  • Follow all company forklift safety rules, procedures, and policies.

  • Participate in safety meetings, continuous improvement initiatives, and other company programs.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous forklift operating experience preferred.

  • Ability to safely load, unload, and transport materials.

  • Ability to follow instructions and established safety procedures.

  • Basic paperwork and recordkeeping skills.

  • Dependable attendance and a commitment to workplace safety.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
