 Field Worker I

What you need to know

·Hourly Pay $24.41

·Monday – Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

·Full Time (40 hours per week), Temporary (6-month assignment)

·Located in East Mesa

·Benefits Available – Medical, Dental, Vision

What will you be doing...

Will perform a variety of general manual labor and equipment-assisted maintenance tasks to assist co-workers with maintenance and repair of streets, storm drain systems, parkways, and right of way. The work is physically demanding and must be capable of frequent lifting and carrying heavy equipment/materials (50+ pounds) involving considerable bending, stooping, and climbing associated with construction and maintenance work.

You will be responsible for…

·Assist Field Worker II and Equipment Operators, based on assignment with construction, maintenance, and repair of the city streets.

·Operate motor vehicles and/or equipment such as a water truck, asphalt patch truck, dump truck, pneumatic roller and pick-up truck used to haul various trailers.

·Operate a variety of hand-held power equipment such as jackhammers, tampers, blowers, etc.

·Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and may entail working close to heavy traffic.

·Other duties as assigned.

What skills & experience will you bring to us...

·Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED.

·Experience involving work with hot mix asphalt, concrete, seal coat, right-of-way, or other related street maintenance activities.

·One year of experience involving outdoor exposure and physical exertion and/or one year of experience operating construction equipment or heavy trucks or other related equipment.

·Must possess a valid Arizona Driver License.
