Job Description

We are looking for a dependable and safety-focused Yard Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently moving trailers throughout our facility to ensure smooth warehouse operations and on-time shipping. If you have experience operating a yard tractor and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a yard tractor (yard goat/terminal tractor) to move loaded and empty trailers throughout the facility.
  • Position trailers at loading docks with accuracy and precision.
  • Transport trailers between dock doors and designated yard parking locations.
  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and trailers, reporting any damage or safety concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and gate security using two-way radios to coordinate trailer movements and maintain accurate trailer inventory.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, yard speed limits, and operating procedures.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Previous experience operating a yard goat, terminal tractor, spotter truck, or tractor-trailer preferred.
  • Strong backing and maneuvering skills in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and frequently enter and exit equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity in a fast-paced environment.
