Job Description

Position Overview

Nevada State Parks is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Retail Storekeeper to support operations at our visitor center gift shop. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming environment for park guests while managing retail operations, maintaining inventory, and supporting vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and provide excellent customer service, including sharing information about the park and available merchandise
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to accurately process retail transactions
  • Manage inventory, including restocking shelves and receiving product deliveries
  • Collaborate with vendors to place orders and assist in developing site-specific merchandise that reflects the unique features of the park
  • Perform accurate cash handling and ensure timely, secure deposits
  • Maintain clean, organized, and shopper-friendly retail and visitor center areas
  • Create attractive product displays that enhance the guest experience
  • Perform basic custodial duties such as dusting, sweeping, and vacuuming
  • Utilize general office equipment and Microsoft Word/Excel for basic administrative tasks

Qualifications

  • Previous retail, customer service, or inventory experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to operate standard office and retail equipment
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail and a positive attitude

  • Ability to demonstrate job-related skills as part of the hiring process
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and special events as needed
