2nd Shift Laser Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a Laser Operator on 2nd shift in Jonesboro, AR.

Shift: 4PM to 12am Monday through Friday 
Payrate: $20-$22


Duties:
  • Set up and operate laser cutting/engraving machines - No programming, another person programs, set up is the drill bits that need to be used per job.
  • Load and unload materials such as sheet metal, plastics, wood, or specialty substrates.
  • Interpret blueprints, CAD files, and work orders to determine cutting paths, tolerances, and material requirements.
  • Adjust machine settings including speed, power, focus, and assist gases to achieve optimal cut quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning lenses, checking alignment, and replacing consumables.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or visual inspection to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues such as poor cut quality, misalignment, or material warping.
  • Maintain accurate production records including job logs, material usage, and quality checks.
  • Follow safety procedures related to lasers, materials handling, and PPE.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production staff to meet deadlines and improve processes.

 Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating laser cutting or engraving equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
  • Strong understanding of material properties (steel, aluminum, acrylic, composites, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of CNC controls and machine programming.-  Will not program, but understanding is good
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and stand for extended periods. 8-10 hours per day
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift certification or experience handling raw materials. is a plus,
  • Prior work in a fabrication, manufacturing, or production environment. -  A MUST

 
Work Environment
  • Production/warehouse setting
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, and moving machinery. and moving trucks and forklift throughout
  • Requires use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. hard hat and safety vest - STEEL TOES a must
