Gift Shop Sales Representative

Job Description

Carson City, NV | Full-Time Temporary Assignment | $20.00-$26.00 per Hour

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Gift Shop Sales Representative to join their team in Carson City. If you enjoy working with people, have a passion for retail, and take pride in delivering outstanding customer service, this could be a great opportunity for you.

In this role, you'll help customers find unique gifts and souvenirs, keep the shop organized and well-stocked, and play an important part in creating a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for every visitor. This is a temporary, full-time position with an anticipated duration of up to 9 months, depending on business needs.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and engaging manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and product recommendations.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using cash, credit/debit cards, and gift certificates.
  • Maintain attractive merchandise displays and ensure products are properly stocked.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory counts.
  • Answer customer questions and provide product information.
  • Keep the sales floor organized, clean, and inviting.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to support daily store operations.
  • Assist with additional retail and customer service duties as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of retail experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Experience operating a point-of-sale (POS) system and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve problems and respond to customer needs effectively.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain active on the sales floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Comfortable assisting with stocking, inventory management, and merchandise presentation.

Schedule & Pay

  • Location: Carson City, NV
  • Position Type: Full-Time Temporary Assignment
  • Duration: Up to 9 months, depending on business needs
  • Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour, depending on experience
