Job Description

Make a Difference Helping Individuals Living in a Local Residential Facility

We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our team as a Direct Support Professional

In this role, you will support adults in a residential setting by teaching life skills, promoting independence, ensuring health and safety, and helping individuals achieve their personal goals.

Candidates do not need direct experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or mental health challenges, but must be able provide support in a respectful and caring manner.

We highly encourage professionals with the following or similar backgrounds to apply: Direct Support Professional (DSP), Caregiver, Residential Counselor, Residential Support, Group Home Support, Behavioral Health Support, Community Support, Human Services Support, Mental Health Support, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and Home Health Aide (HHA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and support daily living skills that promote independence and personal growth
  • Assist individuals in achieving personal goals identified through individualized service plans
  • Provide training and support to help individuals successfully integrate into the community (vocational/employment, leisure/recreation, banking, shopping, etc.) as evidenced by observation, feedback and documentation of services provided.
  • Implement individualized training programs and behavior support plans
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and encouragement in a residential environment
  • Support individuals with medication self-administration in accordance with agency policies
  • Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and healthy home environment
  • Transport individuals safely to appointments, activities, and community outings
  • Follow all agency, state, and federal regulations regarding health, safety, confidentiality, and abuse/neglect prevention
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, families, guardians, and healthcare providers

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass required background checks and screenings
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts
  • Ability to safely assist and support individuals in a residential setting
  • Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout assigned shifts
