As a Lumber Sorter team member at Marathon, you will play a vital role in the manufacturing process. This position is essential for ensuring high-quality production standards while contributing to our commitment to connecting talent with opportunity.

As a Lumber Separator , you will be responsible for sorting, separating, and preparing lumber for the production of pallets and related products. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the quality of materials used in manufacturing while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect and sort lumber pieces based on size, type, and quality standards.
Remove defective or damaged pieces of lumber and ensure usable material is prepared for production.
Stack, bundle, and organize lumber in accordance with company specifications.
Operate hand tools and equipment safely, such as hammers, saws, and banding tools.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lumber yard or workspace.
Monitor and report inventory levels of usable and defective lumber.
Adhere to safety protocols, wearing protective equipment and following company guidelines.
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines.


This role involves working in an outdoor or warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
Employees may work near machinery and moving equipment and must adhere to safety protocols at all times.
