Plant Human Resources Manager

Job Description

Awesome Direct Hire Opportunity

An industry-leading manufacturer in Clinton is looking for an experienced manager to oversee their plant HR team.

In this capacity, your primary responsibilities would be to provide leadership, guidance, and counsel to managers and supervisors within the plant on policies involving human resources administration, compliance issues such as payroll, employee benefits, EEO, safety and health, and workers' compensation matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, and recommends employees to fill vacant positions. Also plans and oversees new employee orientation.
  • Promptly and thoroughly investigate employee EEO complaints such as sexual harassment, harassment and illegal discrimination.
  • Advises plant management concerning the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and responds to inquiries from staff and employees regarding Sterilite policies, procedures, and programs. Promotes a fair, firm, and friendly work environment.
  • Oversees the administration of benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, 401k retirement partnership plan, vacation, personal time, leave of absence, and employee assistance, and conducts employee meetings, including meetings as required on all shifts, for safety, open enrollment, etc.
  • Acts as a representative in dealing with state and federal agencies such as OSHA, EEOC, etc. and coordinates the presentation of company's position to these agencies.
  • Reviews accident investigations and oversees the preparation of reports for the insurance carrier.
  • Performs and coordinates annual safety training and annual EEO training.
  • Administers performance review programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the plant.
  • Prepares employee termination notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Represents the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Lead a team of professionals including a nurse safety coordinator, payroll and benefits administrator, and administrative support professional
Job Requirements
  • An extensive background in HR management
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
