Assist Cafeteria Supervisor in the effective management of daily cafeteria operations.
• Supervise cafeteria staff in the absence of Cafeteria Supervisor
• Examine, count and sort incoming inventory to verify receipt of items on invoices in accordance with requisitions and quality of products
• Store articles in bins, rack, and/or shelves according to identifying information based on item type and storage requirements such as fruit, vegetable, cooler, freezer or storeroom
• Distribute inventory for production to staff, keeping perpetual inventory
• Stock and label inventory in location predetermined by Supervisor, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, FIFO and storage space
• Coordinate the placement of inventory upon delivery
• Complete reports on use of inventory, adjustments of inventory count and records, spoilage of or damage to inventory, food transfer and refusal of deliveries
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties
• Must routinely lift and/or move up to 25 lbs unassisted and up to 50 lbs with assistance
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
• All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate

• Accredited Senior High School Diploma or valid equivalent (USA equivalency)
• One year of Dallas ISD Food Service experience preferred
• Registered Food Service Manager required
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality
• Must be able to maintain a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all district employees
• Must be able to write simple correspondence and to effectively present and communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the cafeteria
• Must be able to maintain professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required
• Must be able to stand extreme hot and cold temperatures
• Must be able to travel within the district
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to apply understanding in order to carry out instructions furnished by Supervisor in written and/or oral form
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
• Ability to use computer software for reporting, ordering and communication
