Health Program Specialist II

Job Description

This is an opportunity to help ensure the Health and Safety of Nevada Residents. Work closely designing and managing  programs to make effective use of grant money. This position will be for at least 1 year.

  1. Program Planning and Management: Develop program goals and objectives to assure the achievement of grant objectives. Develop and implement operational guidelines, directives, controls, and procedures to assure appropriate records and reports. Determine when additional funds are necessary to ensure program’s fiscal needs are met to accomplish programmatic objectives and goals. Identify needs and gaps and develop appropriate activities to address identified gaps.
  2. Program Evaluation Management: Develop evaluation methods to evaluate the program’s progress towards meeting critical goals and objectives. Assist all staff and key partners in identifying gaps and solutions to resolve gaps to achieve critical outcomes. Develop and analyze data related to performance indicators, quality assurance and related information.
  3. Budget Development and Control: Provide overall assurance of program fiscal accountability and compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Collaborate with grants management and fiscal staff to prepare, justify, implement, and monitor program budget. Review historical data and make projections regarding program growth. Participate in the development and monitoring of budget requests and actual variances whenever required.
  4. Grant Administration: Assist in researching, developing, and writing grant proposals and applications to acquire or maintain funding for program. Direct and participate in the preparation and maintenance of grants, budgets, and other required documentation. Maintain knowledge of all grant applications and budgets. Provide feedback and support as needed to sub-grant recipients on progress and gaps identified.
  5. Compliance with Program Regulations and Requirements: Make informed decision related to managing federal and state funds in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Ensure that deliverables are being met and any issues are identified and addressed. Ensure compliance with applicable agency policies, regulations, and statues. Establish and implement controls and procedures to ensure appropriate records and reports are prepared, maintained, and submitted in accordance with requirements.   Marathon Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employe
