Job Description

The successful applicant will maintain our fleet by inspecting, repairing, and replacing parts by performing work specified on maintenance repair orders. Will efficiently diagnose and repair including engine, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, controls, and braking on the units.

Essential Functions

· Perform a variety of skilled work in the maintenance and repair of equipment; prioritize and schedule to accomplish a wide variety of duties related to maintenance.

· Operate and inspect cranes in order to diagnose defects.

· Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs.

· Rebuild and repair equipment according to assigned job specifications and work orders. Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.

· Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.

· Perform a variety of skilled equipment maintenance; operate a variety of equipment and machines including saws, drill presses, and various hand and power tools to perform repair and maintenance work; maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and proper working condition. Dismantle and reassemble cranes using hoists and hand tools.

· Support and maintain the 5-S work area(s).

· Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment; perform troubleshooting to repair or replace equipment; perform repairs to equipment.

· Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment

· Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.

· Schedule maintenance for cranes and keep equipment service records.

· Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.

· Overhaul and test cranes to ensure operating efficiency.

· Assemble gear systems and align frames and gears.

· Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent.

· Maintain various records related to labor, materials and work orders.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Maintain regular attendance.

· Perform tasks in compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable Federal, State, and local codes, regulations, and requirements. Follow Company Safety policies and standards.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

· High school diploma or G.E.D.

· Minimum of ten (10) years experience in one or more of the skilled mechanic trades.

· Technical aspects of field specialty in

· Proper methods of storing equipment, materials, and supplies.

· Basic record-keeping and scheduling techniques.

· Appropriate health and safety precautions and procedures.

· Requirements of maintaining equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition.

· Trade tools, equipment, materials, methods, and techniques used in skilled and general maintenance and equipment repair.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.

· Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.

· Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.

· Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.

· Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds.

· Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to changes in temperature, exposure to dust and fumes
