Packer Handler

Job Description
Marathon Staffing is currently hiring 10+ Packer Handlers who assure visual inspection of manufactured plastics. The location of this job site is approximately 30-40 minutes away from the city of Las Vegas. No bust transportation is offered so you must have your own vehicle to get to and from the job site.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Packer Handler assures by visual inspection that all containers and lids are being manufactured and packaged according to our Clients quality standards and guidelines in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally, the Packer Handler will be responsible for setting aside product that has irregularities and/or sticking that does not meet company quality standards.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate and pack cups from a cup packaging machine.

2. Check for quality of the product and ensures the product is packed into the proper corrugation.

3. Start cup-packaging machine and observes the operation to detect faulty bag sealing, proper lane sequencing, and conveyor operation.

4. Remove sleeved cups from the machine and packs them into the proper corrugation.

5. Ensure the corrugation is properly labeled for the product that is coming from the cup-forming machine.

6. Inspect the cups for quality.

7. Notify the Operator/Lead Packer of any defects.

8. Ensure that all bags are properly sealed, prior to packing in the corrugation.

9. Check stack height of the sleeves.

10. Inspect contents of the sleeves to verify size, quantity, color, and brand of product.

11. Practice good housekeeping.

12. Keep area clean at all times.

13. Mount and threads the poly rolls through the machines.


14. Follow all safety rules, regulations, and policies.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

1. High school diploma or General Education degree (GED); vocational school; demonstrated mechanical ability

2. Two or more years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3. Required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.

4. Good hand-eye coordination is essential.

5. The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

6. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds. Required to regularly push or pull a pallet jack with 1500 pounds load.

7. Frequently exposed to fumes, or airborne particles.

8. Will work near moving mechanical parts, and occasionally in outside weather conditions.
