Job Description
Job Title: Supply Planner: Distribution Requirements

Mission: Maintain an ongoing focus on stability, service, inventory, and cost in the execution of distribution planning strategies.

1. Replenishment Supply Planning:
a) Evaluates data regarding demand vs. forecast, production vs. plan, inventory levels, service levels, and resource productivity to adequately stock FDCs.
b) Develops production and product transfer deployment plans as a result of inputs including forecast, inventory, capacity, materials, lead times, service objectives, etc.
c) Monitors inventory levels to ensure inventory is effectively utilized in accordance with specified metrics.
d) Identifies and report trends, forecast issues, anomalies and gaps, while recommending corrective actions.
e) Identifies strategic process improvements for inventory management, order fulfillment, customer satisfaction while maintaining days of supply on hand at each location.
f) Communicates plan changes to key partners (warehouse, production, transportation, customer service, etc.)

2. Inventory Management:
a) Monitors inventory processes and transactions in distribution centers to assure product receipts and other reporting is controlled and consistent.
b) Acts as a liaison, representing the Planning function in general, interfacing and influencing other functions.
c) Understands and properly executes manual and system inventory transactions.
d) Monitor and scrutinize inventory and service level reports for root cause analysis and corrective action.
e) Conducts exception management against stock out, stock low, stock high, and inventory aging across the network.

3. Personal Development
a) Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
b) Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards to ensure continuous improvement.
c) Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

4. Cost Reduction
a) Develops product life cycle management strategies and implement processes that reduce inventory loss.
b) Implement replenishment strategy to minimize expedited freight.
c) Identifies and implements key initiatives that drive continuous process improvement through inventory management processes.
d) Conducts root-cause analysis on all inventory stock outs in FDCís to develop and implement corrective actions and communicate resolution to all relevant stakeholders.
e) Identifies out-of tolerance measures and presents recommendations to mitigate.


5. Production Planning
a) Serves as back-up for all supply planning processes
b) Generates production work orders as needed per the current pack schedule.
c) Participates in the development and management of the Master Production Schedule in order to ensure a balance of stability and responsiveness.
d) Develops and provides reports as needed for Key Performance Indicators
e) Supplies data and analysis for S&OP Supply process
f) Participates in Order Management meetings in collaboration with Customer Service and Demand Manager

Education/Experience:
Bachelorís degree or 5 years work experience in supply chain, corporate finance, production/operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

Preferred experience in agriculture production, food processing, manufacturing environment, shipping/warehousing and/or inventory control. Advanced Excel skills preferred. Knowledge of Oracle JDE system desired.

Language Skills:
Strong communication skills required. The ability to convey (verbal and written) communications to various levels within the organization. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and investigate; technical procedures, contracts and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, customers, and employees.



Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, and cubes. Ability to compute rate, ratio and to create and maintain intricate graphs, charts and spreadsheets. Accurately converts measurements and quantities, e.g., cases per pallet to total quantity, etc

Reasoning Ability:
Quantitative data management skills with ability to look at information creatively and develop proposals for process improvements based on findings from data.
